Kingswood Cabinets

Kingswood Cabinet is a company that focuses on building custom cabinets for various commercial and residential developments all around Calgary. The company recently moved to a new warehouse and with the move comes upgrades to accommodate their company needs. CANA was hired to oversee the creation of their warehouse and landscaping which was subcontracted to Foothills Landscaping.

The construction of the property’s landscape began in July 2020. Despite the challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to complete the project within four weeks. Various health policies and requirements were established between the prime contractor and Foothills Landscaping to keep the worksite safe.

Foothills was tasked to prepare the area for about 350 new planting materials and 1,600 m² of sod.

Prior to our mobilization, we had to make sure that the existing trees lining up the boulevards around the property are barricaded in compliance with the City of Calgary’s tree protection plan requirement. Mulch and decorative rocks were delivered and installed onsite to cover plant beds and parking lot islands. We were also tasked to install an irrigation system to ensure that the new plant materials survive the establishment period. Landscape furniture such as garbage receptacles and bike racks were supplied and installed according to the design.

The original design of the property calls for a swale that is covered with sod and planted with various trees and perennial shrubs and decorative grass. The owner requested that the swale design be changed and our company recommended installing a dry stream rock bed for better drainage, easier maintenance, and improve the property’s curb appeal.

Our team worked hard to ensure that everyone in the group was safe and healthy during the whole construction period. Within 19 days of work, we were able to complete the landscape prior to the warehouse’s September 8th opening.
