Dufferin Convenience

Dufferin Convenience is a gas station and convenience store located in Dufferin Boulevard SE, Calgary. The commercial store houses the first Triple O’s Restaurant in Calgary which is slowly gaining traction amongst Calgarians.

With Longhorn Construction Inc. as the prime contractor, the exterior landscape was sub-contracted to Foothills Landscaping. The project began in late April 2020 right as the threat of COVID-19 began in the country. With this challenge in mind, certain procedures and health and safety measures had to be taken to ensure the safety of our workers and other people on site. Our company worked hand-in-hand with our prime contractor, ensuring that all workers coming to the site are COVID-19 free.

Using Axiom Architecture Inc.’s design, about 150 trees and shrubs and 650 m² of sod were installed all around the property.

An irrigation system was installed to ensure that these newly installed plant materials and sod will get established. Plant beds were covered with decorative rocks and mulch to add contrast to the green space. Bike racks were also installed to cater to bikers who visit. Large boulders were removed from the existing subgrade, and some were utilized in the landscape.

Coordinating with the prime contractor was done diligently to prevent creating a hindrance to other trades and their respective tasks. The project was completed within 11 days.
