Alberta Agriculture has recently updated the list of plants found in Western North America that could have devastating effects on agriculture, horticulture, and native plant and animal species in the province. Damage that these plants inflict can range from choking out native plants to poisoning livestock and draft animals, so it is in everyone's best interest to be aware of what might be lurking in the alleys, fields, and playgrounds. Alberta weed inspectors prowl the province, and will let the landowner know what noxious species they find, and which the owner must then deal with.
